Rectangular Duct Heaters

Electric Duct Heaters are used for Space, Primary, Supplementary and Auxiliary heating applications. They consist of a heating element which converts electricity into heat through Resistance – the process by which the passage of an electric current thru a conductor (wire) releases heat. The resulting heat is transferred by Conduction or Convection providing there is a temperature difference.

CONDUCTION is the transfer of heat between surfaces that are in direct contact to each other. Application examples would include Crankcase and Band Heaters.

CONVECTION is the transfer of heat by the action of natural air flow surrounding and contacting the heat source. In the case of an Electric Duct Heater, the heat source would be the Heating element, the natural air flow being the fan assisted movement of air thru the duct.
